چکیده

A highly contiguous mitochondrial and plastid genome sequences of a japonica rice cultivar, Taichung 65, were determined by hybrid approach with long- short-read sequences. The assembled was 465,453 bases in length an overall GC content 43.8%. It predicted to harbor 62 protein-encoding genes, 16 kinds (33 copies) transfer RNA, three (six ribosomal RNA genes. structure 65 is largely the same as that Nipponbare, but first ∼9.5 kb sequence Nipponbare (DQ167400) replaced ∼27 duplicated from other parts genome. Phylogenetic polymorphism analysis indicated classified typical japonica. 134,551 completely identical previously reported sequence. These near-complete organelle will serve fundamental resources for investigating alloplasmic cytoplasmic male sterile lines organelle-controlled phenomena rice.

MutS HOMOLOG1 Stabilizes Plastid and Mitochondrial Genomes.

The maintenance of plastid and mitochondrial genomes is vital to the health of those organelles and to the plant in general but has been much less studied than that of bacterial and nuclear genomes. Recent progress has identified some of the proteins involved in organelle genome maintenance, including MutS HOMOLOG1 (MSH1), so-named because of its relationship to the bacterial DNA recombination ...

Pervasive Transcription of Mitochondrial, Plastid, and Nucleomorph Genomes across Diverse Plastid-Bearing Species

Organelle genomes exhibit remarkable diversity in content, structure, and size, and in their modes of gene expression, which are governed by both organelle- and nuclear-encoded machinery. Next generation sequencing (NGS) has generated unprecedented amounts of genomic and transcriptomic data, which can be used to investigate organelle genome transcription. However, most of the available eukaryot...

Plastid and mitochondrial genomes of Coccophora langsdorfii (Fucales, Phaeophyceae) and the utility of molecular markers

Coccophora langsdorfii (Turner) Greville (Fucales) is an intertidal brown alga that is endemic to Northeast Asia and increasingly endangered by habitat loss and climate change. We sequenced the complete circular plastid and mitochondrial genomes of C. langsdorfii. The circular plastid genome is 124,450 bp and contains 139 protein-coding, 28 tRNA and 6 rRNA genes. The circular mitochondrial geno...

Phylogeny of the clusioid clade (Malpighiales): evidence from the plastid and mitochondrial genomes.

PREMISE OF THE STUDY The clusioid clade includes five families (i.e., Bonnetiaceae, Calophyllaceae, Clusiaceae s.s., Hypericaceae, and Podostemaceae) represented by 94 genera and ≈1900 species. Species in this clade form a conspicuous element of tropical forests worldwide and are important in horticulture, timber production, and pharmacology. We conducted a taxon-rich multigene phylogenetic ana...
